Keep Card Information Secure
With the proliferation of credit cards, debit cards and even reward cards from various retailers, members are being asked to do a lot! Not only do they have to carry these extra cards, they may have to remember many different passwords, PINs and member numbers.
These cards and their information need to be kept confidential to avoid problems and possible theft. Follow these tips to help keep your cards and information safe.
- Keep all your PINs, passwords and card numbers stored in a safe place and not in your wallet or purse. If you forget a PIN or password, you’ll have easy access to it, with little risk of it getting lost or stolen from your person.
- Report lost or stolen cards immediately. Keep the emergency phone numbers on your person and with your master list.
- Avoid giving your credit card number over the phone or via FAX.
- Never reveal your ATM card’s PIN to anyone, including credit union personnel.
