Job Purpose:
The HR Consultant advises leaders and employees at all levels in the organization in the areas of recruitment, HR legislation, employee relations, compensation, benefits, organizational development and employee development.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Provide recruitment services to internal front line managers and executives (from review of staffing need through orientation)
• Act as an advisor and coach to leaders dealing with complex employees relations, employee recognition/reward, and/or employee performance issues
• Assist in the development and communication of HR policies and procedures to all employees
• Provide input into or lead the development of organizational structures, communication pieces, and or major change initiatives in support of business needs
• Facilitate orientation as required in support of the training and development team
• Assist with the development of reports or information gathering required for managerial or executive decision making
• Maintain thorough knowledge of credit union policies and procedures
• Assist in the development of new HR programs as required to support business needs
• Lead assigned projects aimed at HR process/program improvements
• Participate in the development of HR strategy, metrics and goals
• Regular travel between branches is required
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Commerce degree or Business Administration Diploma; plus 5 to 8 years job related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• CHRP designation or willingness to attain designation
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with staff and members and foster a positive teamwork environment
• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, develop and motivate others
• Ability to identify, analyze and generate solutions to problems based on established policies and practices and legislation
• Excellent prioritization, organization, and time management skills
• Superior written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
