ABOUT SSL CERTIFICATES

Voting online is easy and secure.

Welcome to SCU online voting. It's a simple and secure way for you to cast your vote for the Board of Director elections at the upcoming annual meeting. Voting online eliminates the need for a paper ballot and is simple and secure, so you can rest assured that, as always, your vote will count.

How can I vote?
Members can vote online, via mail-in ballot, in person at any SCU branch, or in person at the SCU Annual General Meeting on March 13, 2012. Every member will receive two identifiers in the mail. These identifiers are necessary to vote online and will be included in the same envelope as your mail-in ballot. You can also receive your identifiers by calling the SCU Member Contact Centre, or by visiting an SCU branch and showing proper identification.

How does online voting work?
If you wish to vote online, once you receive your two identifiers, you can proceed to the online voting page, register and cast your vote. You can then cast your vote for up to three nominees. Smartphone users can scan the QR code supplied on the identifier mailing which will take you directly to the voting page.

Is it secure?
Yes. SCU is working with a company called CUES to provide the utmost security for the online voting site. Your identifiers must be used to cast your vote. Once your vote is cast, you cannot vote again as an individual voter by any method. You can vote once more as a representative of an organization. As with all votes, only the outside auditors hired to handle the election will count the votes and at no time will any votes be attached to any identifiers.

Why is online voting available?
As our membership base grows and as technology allows, SCU makes every effort to offer the benefits of advancing technology in order to ease the voting process.

Until when can I vote online?
Online voting closes at midnight, March 5, 2012.

ROBERT PENNER
"Actions speak louder than words.” These are words that I have modeled my life around. My 32-year career at Reimer Express has allowed me to work my way from the bottom up, continually learning and passing that knowledge onto others. This has helped to develop my “Servant Leader” style of leadership, where I lead by also following. There is also wisdom in learning from other people, and my mentor has been pivotal in demonstrating leadership qualities to me; qualities I try to put into practice in my current role at my church.

After many years of team sports, I have come to realize the importance of teamwork and how each role is vital to the success of the team. Teamwork is a vital part of my industry as working with over 100 independent contractors is like working with over 100 small businesses, and we all work together to make sure that we stay cohesive since we need each other to prosper and succeed.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, my family and friends continue to be a big part of my life and in most cases, I can never tell where they end and I begin. As work obligations and life can get busy, it is important to take time to refresh. A quick winter vacation or summer camping trip helps us to unwind and bond as a family. We continue to be blessed with 5 adult children, two that have joined by marriage.

The SCU 72nd Annual General Meeting will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Steinbach Bible College, 50 PTH 12 North, Steinbach, MB

• Registration at 6:30 pm
• Meeting at 7:00 pm
