Some people think that switching their financial institution is a daunting task.Relax. We’ve taken on so many new members we know exactly what to do to make your transition as smooth as possible. When the time comes... we do the work. Our helpful Member Services Representatives meet with you to record all the pertinent information we’ll need to get the job done.
In the meantime, here's a list of some of the things our representatives will do with you to get you set up.
Open an Account
The first step is to create an account with SCU either in Steinbach or Winnipeg. To open your personal account, we will require your personal information, identification and a $5 share. Business Accounts will also require your Business Name Registration or Articles of Incorporation (if applicable). Plus, two valid pieces of ID are required including one piece of Government issued photo ID. For a complete listing of valid ID's please contact SCU.
We can assist with the transfer of accounts and the completion of the necessary paperwork
(some fees may apply at the previous financial institution). At that point, all your funds will be transferred to your new SCU account – Savings, Chequing, Line of Credit (upon approval), or business (if applicable).
For your credit card needs we offer a pre-approved SCU MasterCard®. We can easily change another credit union’s MasterCard for an SCU card by simply completing an internal form. Choice Reward Points are awarded for balance transfers from existing credit cards to your new SCU MasterCard.
We issue you a debit card that provides you with access to your accounts at any ATM, and allows for store purchases at any debit machine. Personal deposits may also be made at many credit unions across Canada.
Transferring your loans is no problem either. We’ll take care of all the paper work and make sure everything, including approvals, is in order. In fact, you’ll probably get more attractive rates than what you currently pay at your financial institution. But you know that. That’s one of the reasons you’ve decided to switch! Whether it’s a mortgage, personal loan, business loan or line of credit, SCU has the flexible options you want. Every loan we provide is geared to help you pay it off quickly and for the lowest cost.
Bill Payment Options
